The above scenes were shot in Cavinti on the border of Pagsanjan,
in the province of Laguna, Philippines,
about a 2 hour drive from Manila.
If you have ever been to Pagsanjan and had a boat ride to Pagsanjan Falls
which is actually called Cavinti Falls,
then you might have gone past this actual location and never known about it.
The photos below is the actual bend which Willard comes round.

As a little tidbit of information, in the scenes were you see the natives with only their heads showing,
they were extras in the movie and they were burid up to their necks for those scenes

Thank you to Kevin Hall from Perth Australia, who has just returned from the
Philippines (January 2009) and sent in his photos of around Kurtz compound.
Kevin also met a former crew member who worked as a carpenter (pictured) on the film.

The Hotel
This is the hotel which the crew stopped at while filming in the area (Pagsanjan Rapids - the hotel is no longer in use).
