At an underground Florida research station, Dr. Logan (Richard Liberty) conducts grotesque experiments on captured zombies to search for a way that the living and the living dead can cohabitate. Begrudgingly sharing the facility with the doctor is military man Rhodes (Joe Pilato) and his underlings. Scientist Sarah (Lori Cardille) and her fellow survivors seek refuge at the compound just in time to see a clash between Logan and Rhodes reach a critical turning point. DAY OF THE DEAD stands as the most controversial film in the series. The actual filming took place in 1984 and below are the screen grabs from the movie, along with photos of how the actual filming location look now (2007). This is a direct visual comparison of how the filming locations have changed over time. Some places and buildings are now totally unrecognizable due to massive development and area progress while some have undergone the opposite direction towards deterioration and decay. Some places, however, have stayed intact as they were, unaffected by the passage of weather and time.</p> <p> The order below is the same order from the beginning to the end of the movie. The scene is located on the junction of Edwards Drive and Hendry Street. There is a new information centre in the background and where Sarah and Miguel are looking down the road all you can see now is a building site (why a new building, as so many old buildings are empty is beyond me!!!) (Thanks to 'Hoagy' who e-mailed us with this information. 'Its actually a matte painting in the background in the film. If you watch the footage really close, look along the tops of the abandoned cars, you actually see the 'filled in' background move ever-so-slightly. The building was recently used as the post office and now lays dormant. The local chamber of commerce placed modern art in front of the building in a form of a light and the original handrails which you can see in the film are no longer there.
