Derbyshire has a fair share of locations used in films both in the big and small screens. We feel this is rightly so as this beautiful countryside in the heart of England has so much to offer.

Quaint Villages, beautiful spots and stately homes in the Peak District and the Dales had been popular locations in period dramas, horror and thriller flicks in the 70’s and 80’s. In the recent years, Derbyshire has been put in the spotlight again in the modern versions of period and historical dramas billed by big names like Keira Knightly, Scarlett Johansson , Natalie Portman and Ralph Fiennes. Also, with Midlands based multi talented director Shane Meadows, filming in Matlock and surrounding areas, Derbyshire has become a filming locations hive once again.

We are not official filming location scouts or a production company; we’re just individuals who have watched many films, enjoy finding and visiting filming locations and would want to see Derbyshire back on the film making Map.
